For one of our clients in the energy sector, we are looking for two Process safety specialists.
The consultant will support P2X Projects in managing risks related to process safety (Control of Major Accident Hazards)) to the asset project during the lifecycle of an asset. The consultant will objectively ensure that the assets we develop, build, own and operate are technically safe, to avoid release of hazardous chemicals and the inherent consequences thereof.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure that engineering and design is successfully delivered with the required governance for the management of process safety hazards and associated deliverables (incl. P2X project model) for P2X projects
- Provide advice and guidance to projects and assets on the appropriate risk mitigation measures required for operational and integrity-related Process Safety issues.
- Support the Barrier Management program in the development of Barrier Management system (Framework, performance standards and supporting processes)
- Provide guidance in compliance with requirements including standards and legislation related to PSM
- Support and drive studies for hazard identification, consequence evaluation, safety assessments, risk assessments, risk mitigation and ALARP evaluation
Selected key Tasks:
- Take responsibility of the process safety governance for selected P2X projects
- Take part in the development and implementation of Barrier Management system (major accident hazard management).
- Take part in the development of a technical authority framework, including management of change and deviations, related to management of safety critical elements integrity.
- Ensure that PSM related objectives and requirements are fulfilled during projects and asset changes
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as process safety / technical safety in oil and gas facilities, chemical process facilities or electrolyser facilities.
- University graduate in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Fire, Safety, Electrical, Process Eng., Physics or Mathematics).
- Knowledge of effects modelling and Quantitative Risk Assessment,
- Able to facilitate process safety engineering workshops. These may include HAZID, HAZOP, Bowties, ALARP, SIMOPs, and facility layout and siting. Knowledge of LOPA and SIL classification.
- Experience in developing and/ or maintaining performance standards.
- Experience in developing and maintaining Major Accident Hazard Strategies required
- Knowledge of international standards and guidelines, including both design and operations.
- Experience with project process safety management implementation. Previous project experience is expected.
