On behalf of one of our clients in the pharmaceutical industry, emagine is currently seeking a Data Engineer for Lab Operations with extensive experience with Oracle and MongoDB.

Job Description

This role presents an exciting opportunity to join Lab Operations and explore how IT technology can innovate our lab operations area, taking it to the next level of usability and reliability.

In this position, you will be part of a product team responsible for helping scientists with access, integration, analysis and visualization of data generated in our client´s scientific labs as well as storage of processed data together with enriched analytics of meta data.

 

Key responsibilites includes:

  • optimizing the performance of Oracle views.

  • defining robust and scalable data models in Oracle and MongoDB, and developing efficient ETL processes to integrate various data sources seamlessly.

  • Maintain data pipelines to ensure continuous, accurate data flow from lab instruments to storage systems, facilitating integration with other enterprise systems and external sources.

  • This role requires hands-on expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, advanced SQL skills, and experience with ETL tools and scripting languages like Python or Shell for automation.


Do you have what it takes?

  • Extensive experience with Oracle and MongoDB (documentDB).

  • Proficiency in optimizing database performance and managing large datasets.

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and best practices.

  • Ability to design robust, scalable, and efficient data models across multiple database platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and frameworks.

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain data pipelines for continuous data flow.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, data manipulation, and performance tuning.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation tasks.

  • Experience in developing data visualization tools and dashboards.
