Summary: The IT Architect will shape the IT infrastructure strategy by leading vendor selection, particularly focusing on alternatives to VMware, managing vendors, and developing business cases to support architectural decisions.
Responsibilities:
Lead the vendor selection of an alternative to VMware (MUST HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE).
Manage vendor relationships and performance.
Build and present compelling business cases to stakeholders.
Create and present proof of concept (POC).
Must Haves:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of IT architecture experience with a focus on infrastructure and virtualization.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite.
Proven record in vendor evaluation and selection, including contract negotiation.
Experience in building business cases and presenting to senior stakeholders.
Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid strategies.
Experience in a global enterprise environment, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders.
Nice to Haves:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Advanced Professional (VCAP).
TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification.
ITIL Foundation or higher.
PMP or PRINCE2 certification (a plus).
